Cyber Futures in 2020
Published by IT Web, DRS’ Managing Director, MJ Strydom, discusses cyber trends for 2020 and reveals what makes technology and data most vulnerable. Utilities have and will always be a target due to their old-fashioned software. The Internet of Things and the use of cloud services are also at risk because they are built on data transference: the sending and uploading of information. As Strydom explains, “IoT devices and their connections to networks and clouds are still a weak link in security. It’s hard to get visibility of devices, and they have complex security requirements.” Our data is most vulnerable when it travels, and so Strydom suggest a more holistic approach to IoT security.
